Surrender a Cat or Dog
The GBAS primarily serves the residents of Grey and Bruce Counties whose owners are no longer able to provide suitable care for their pet dogs and cats. Our shelter can accommodate up to 10 dogs and 20 cats/kittens. Once pets are surrendered, we attempt to ensure that suitable caring homes are quickly found for them.
We ask that you call us at 519-372-1911 or e-mail the shelter to discuss your surrender needs. If e-mailing, please download, fill out and attach the surrender form. Note: Printing and signatures can be done when you come to the shelter for your appointment. You will be asked a series of questions regarding your pet to determine whether we can accommodate your request. If we can assist you, we will make an appointment for you to deliver your pet cat or dog to the Shelter between the hours of 9.00am and 11.00am. At the time of surrender, we will conduct an assessment of the animal and if the surrender is accepted, we will complete an animal profile form in preparation for adoption. A Surrender fee of $50 cash per cat and $75 cash per dog will be payable at this time.
