The KennelsOur Shelter can accommodate up to ten dogs at any one time and even though our goal is to find them suitable new homes as quickly as possible, they all have to be cared for, fed and exercised daily.
By July of 2018, we recognized the fact that our success in accepting and re-housing surrendered dogs was placing a greater strain on our volunteers which led inadvertently to a decrease in the time spent with each animal. We therefore started a project to make life more pleasant for our dogs and easier for our volunteers by modernizing and increasing the size of our kennels. Each dog will now have its own individual indoor kennel connecting to a sheltered extension connected to an outdoor extension with a shaded area. The new design will now permit volunteers to egress the kennels with their dog directly onto the grounds for daily exercises. |
